The Alphabet is Going Crazy by Rose Blake

My alphabet friends

go alphabet crazy

over a,b,c—

all the way to

q,r,s

and t,u,v—

My life in the microwave

means beat up

by heat waves

while w,y,x and z

are gonna gossip

and bully me

while d and e

spin a toxic love story

The way you’ve used the brief free verse lines in this piece is seriously effective.

The way you’ve turned this entire swift poem into a gigantic metaphor is super effective!

The loose but also solid four-part structure of this piece also wins all the races that don’t always go to the swift.

The structure is both free and full of form (or the form is full, while free) at the same time; THAT is a mark of exceptional work! Your work has enthusiasm but enthusiasm under the reins of the writer, which is as it always should be in the best poems.
