Fall Salmon Run by Frederick K

The river winds placidly
with wide curves
and rippled skin

Decorated with
a fishing flotilla
of odds and ends

Bound by high banks
tree trunks and green
foliage fading to brown

Salted with rip rap and
peppered with hopeful anglers
the road for Mecca-bound salmon

A perfect autumn day

Frederick K Foote

One would think that Frederick Foote has been penning not prescient and stirring prose for his whole life, but rather lovely poetry showcasing a variety of poetic techniques. Perhaps he has.

A great celebration of some big fish. And it shows how harmony still remains in the world, IF we’re willing to unplug from the madness and step away without fanfare. Can’t think of a more important thing real poetry can say. Thanks! (“…foliage fading to brown / Salted with rip rap…” Awesome!)
