Happy New Year! Here’s hoping that you are not starting 2025 off in a jail cell or any other less than desirable location, and that you did not heed any “creative” ideas suggested to you by Tippleganger Ghosts, who live for New Years Eve.
Big doings in the realm this year. To open things we are writing an on the fly book that will appear a little at a time everyday (except Sundays, my Fictional Characters are unionized and do not work on Sundays) until it either satisfies brilliantly or keels over dead. We proudly call it The Oz Exception. It begins tomorrow with the prologue, which is followed by the first section on the 3rd. Those are the only pre-written parts of the opus. After that each entry will be written the day before it appears. Call it a bold move, biting off more than we can chew or a cheap gimmick to attract readers who are not obviously spam AI’s. Call it whatever as long as it is not late for happy hour.
Speaking of such, we are confident that your bail will be posted soon.
Your servant,
Leila
Dear Leila!
It’s New Year’s Day 2025, and as far as I can tell, I’m not incarcerated this time, despite a checkered family history in this regard, and as long as a bitter alienation from one’s own mainstream society surrounding one counts as internal exile, and not a form of spiritual jail!! (Sometimes I feel like I’m in jail.)
As the late, very great Tom Petty had it, “That old drunk tank in Atlanta / is just a motel room to me.”
Very few writers would have the boldness to try for this new fictional story-telling method of daily composition published that day. Even fewer writers (very few and none that I know of) would be able to achieve this feat without falling miserably flat upon their sorry-for-trying faces!
The project is a kind of 21st century resurrection of Dickens combined with the spirited avant-garde writing style/methods/and mode of Charles Bukowski and Dr. Hunter S. Thompson thrown in, plus Virginia Woolf VERY MUCH SO too, for good measure!!
As a massive fan of fables, fantasy, magic graveyards, novellas, Wiccan minions, Witches (good and bad), Animals, Humans, Ghosts, Shakespeare, and all other things Saragun Springs and/or the multi-personed Authoress Leila Allison, I’m looking forward to this Project and will be there!
This project is important to the Arts in Illiterate America for a million reasons, and it will and is becoming a kind of standard or model for the future of writing in the English-speaking world (and beyond).
I’m as certain of all this as I would be if I were in a Time Machine, and I am in one…
As Don Quixote said to Sancho Panza on the deathbed, “The imagination makes me more real.”
Congrads!

Hi Dale
Thank you! Your views on writing match my own and those of all thoughtful readers. Readers and writers should always challenge themselves. So, in that spirit, I will stand on the edge of a cliff this month.
Thanks again!
Leila
