I’m in a dark labyrinth,
following the echoing footsteps
of a beloved,
long vanished by time.
I’m in a warm enclosure,
being watched by a jaguar
that’s pacing with eyes agleam,
and I notice the smell of straw.
Leaning in the shadows
under the stairs,
I hear the notes
of unspooling melody
from a Spanish guitar.
On a day blue and sparkling,
I’m standing on a beach,
gazing at a shell
over the white sands.

Welcome to the site. This is a tremendously visual poem. I have noticed that poems often appeal to the enhancement of the senses, and sight was blessed here.

The most profound things in life can never be spoken, they can only sometimes be gestured toward or hinted at in art through words, and storytelling.
Our dreams tell us much about who we really are, but only if we can pursue them in some sort of an objective manner.
I really like how you managed to remove all the “personality” from this poem and focus on just the images.
This says more than a million interpretations of all these images could ever have done.
Great work!
