    This is a huge poem that looks small at first.

    I appreciate, deeply, the objectivity of this piece.

    The first word wakes the reader up.

    The rest of the poem captures an ordinary holiday image that is “just itself,” but which then becomes a celebration (and a lamentation) of the fall of empire. One must also consider the title.

    Brilliant!
