(This week we are pleased to welcome back Frederick K. Foote and his poetry–LA)
Tiptoe around the evidence
of his heavy shadow on
your slender, fragile frame
And the worry on our faces
grasping at chemo’s ring
we dive into mutual delusion
back stroking on hopes
rising tide and our own
surging false bright light

Fine poem. Someone once told me that false hope is better than no hope. Well, it does buy time, so it might have some value.
But you ought to do it for the sake of another.

Mr. Foote’s poetry, like his abundant fiction, is well-considered and covers a variety of serious topics.

Not all prolific writers are any good but with some prolific writers, such as yourself, their prolificness shows their dedication to the art and as such is something that can and should be looked up to.
This whole poem is well-done and that last line, “surging false bright light,” is incredibly lively and original and it sends the reader back to the beginning to read the whole thing over again – wonderful poetry work!
