(Note: this week we are happy to introduce our readers to Paul Tristram. He will be the star of the show through Friday–LA)
I do like the ‘Rain’
accompanying
the brisk walk
away from
long overdue,
inevitable
‘Goodbyes’…
it’s almost as
if the Heavens
are applauding
your… ‘Decision’.
‘Solitude’ a little,
before the road
forward…
the words ‘Solo’
and ‘Successful’
hold hands
inside my self
-satisfied smile…
Ghosts remain
invisible to
those not Haunted.

Hello Paul
Welcome to the site. I like the insouciant attitude of this. Like it for letting me use that word. There may be bravado too, but better than boring tears.

This is a REAL POEM for at least three crucial reasons: one, it captures inwardness; two, it does it in a handful of perfectly chosen words; three: the short lines really are separate lines and not just prose randomly broken into lines.
Awesome author photo too! Most author photos (like most selfies) are too grinningly obvious (or unintentionally silly instead of serious (silly is fine as long as it’s on purpose)); but this picture has mystery and intrigue. Many aspects help create that including the black-and-white and the cig. People should be more careful about the pictures of themselves they release out into the world; and yours is justified!
