State of the World Friday the Thirteenth March Year of Our Lord 2026 12:13 AM by Dale Barrigar Williams

The bad news is we’re already in WW3.

The good news is we’re already in WW3.

The bad news is bad because we’re in WW3.

The good news is good because it isn’t as bad as (or worse than) WW2 (yet) for most of us.

The great news is there won’t be a WW IV, unless fought by hardy micro organisms. There’s irony to be found in the possibility of blowing up the word through an effort to keep a nation from being able to do so by itself. Fortunately, the Will to Survive is a pretty big instinct.

We have yet to come far from our Wart Hog bone wielding ancestors in some ways.

Excellent little verse, dizzying photo too!

This was written as a chorus for The Beatles even though the band broke up a little while ago. Maye they will get back together again.

I imagine John calling out in a comic voice, “All together now!” And then the Fab Four shall sing this chorus in unison, at least seven or eight or maybe nine times in a row.

Thanks, too, to all the former CIA analysts, former four-star generals, and current historians and military analysts whom I viewed on You Tube all evening long on the night this poem got written. The surest thing we can say from that is that, while the leadership in Russia and China is probably just as evil as the leadership in the USA, THEY know what they’re doing a hell of a lot more than we do. As evil as they may be, and I don’t deny that they are evil, they have done their homework, and I do not think we can say the same for our own leaders (except for the evil part). Food for thought, as they say.

    Thank you!

    Dale

    PS

Thanks to Joseph Heller and Kurt Vonnegut as well as Lewis Carroll for further poetic inspiration…”Off with their heads!”

    Hi DWB

Those photos are Lynchian and Kafkaesque. Love the darkness and blur.

Things are moving fast. “The center cannot hold.” WBY.

It is bad and good as you say… WW2 was as bad as it got, but these days Nukes don’t feel like they’re off the table.

I hope the sun doesn’t rise at night.
