(Sir Andy Hisster)
Andy knows the truth
He keeps it in his bended ear
He rattles my cage and shakes the key:
“Poor human, guilt gives you unnatural fear
Cats and Dogs don’t make up demons and gods
That look like the fool you see in the mirror.”

(Alice. D. Doe)
Alice D. Doe is both kind and wry
She enjoys ivy and never asks why
She keeps her nose to the wind
And ears on alert
She’s all right with the birds
But Bluejays are jerks

(Skully before)
Skully the skell put his girl through hell
He laughed when she pulled out the ax

(After)
Skully has laughed his last
Thanks to a boney lass
excellent. You made me chuckle with that last one.

Hi Diane
Skully’s head vanished sometime around Halloween weekend. I don’t know if the owner removed it for whatever reason or if it was pilfered. The guy is at least ten feet tall, so theft seems unlikely. That is when a third possibility came to mind.
Thank you

You write animal and otherworldly characters just as well as you write human ones, and that must mean that you understand animals and the otherworldly just as well.
That gray cat is such a handsome feller! I think his coloring means he understands ambiguity. That and living on the streets has probably turned him into someone not easily fooled.
Beautiful deer with a real voice!
I wonder if Mr. Skell understands that he had it coming to him? Can he still think without his head?
These picture-poem interfaces are perfect possibilities for future issues and numbers of Saragun Springs…It’s a brand new form that also harkens back to the days of Dickens and Alice in Wonderland.

Hi Dale
Ol Andy is a regular Duke Wayne. He is all weather and rough and ready.
“Alice” was photograped at, I am guessing, 200 yards. But as you clearly see she knew all about me. In fact a fawn (a yearling by looks) pass withinvten feet of me on my morning walk today. That is the closest I have ever been to a deer. S/he was not overly concerned about me or another person not all that farther away.
The water in the shot behind “Skully” is a part of the Puget Sound called the Port Washinton Narrows. Perhaps that is where his crown is bobbing.
Thank you for your gracious comments…
Leila
