In “Essentials of Spontaneous Prose” Jack Kerouac said:

“Time being of the essence in the purity of speech, sketching language is undisturbed flow from the mind of personal secret idea-words blowing (as per jazz musician) on a subject of image.”

Just being spontaneous IS NOT ENOUGH, however; there also has to be (paradoxically) CONTROL or the writing will merely seem random, mad, out of control, too personal and too disconnected, and full of holes…

The billigits project PROJECTS that essential combination of spontaneous-seeming, lively, life-giving energy, and the Word Control of the Shaper behind the creation…

One reason I love the description (or story) of God creating the World in 7 days is because He seems so very very very much LIKE A WRITER while he’s doing it…Yes, a profoundly Large and Cosmic Writer whose works we can never truly comprehend – but still a Writer…

Also glad to see Grace Slick and her great song here…I remember listening to that song AT FULL VOLUME while on three or four tabs of blotter acid (1980s) plus a few other things…Probably one reason it feels etched upon my feeble brain pan to this day…

    • Hi Dale
Yes, acid does go well with Grace and the rest of the San Francisco crew of yore. It’s such a good match that I must wonder since they must have been high when they recorded the stuff, how did they keep time with each other?

This month, the billies will present all the quatrains to make a hundred. Actually, a done deal, scheduled for every M-W of this month.
      Thanks again–

  2. Good news about donkeys and jail, well that’s a weight off my mind. Clever writing this format I never quite got it I don’t think – I could probably find something in my vaults but it wouldn’t be as amusing as this because this has billigits. dd
