    This poem uses wit to fend off the melancholia of modernity and mortality, and by
    “wit” here I mean the word in its original, deeper form and not the shallower, sillier, contemporary version of this word. It’s also a great contrast, in a good way, with your recent painting poems which we’re also privileged to bring out. Thanks for sending your work to the Springs!
