The sands of years will fill betwixt and between

And scrub away the legends of kings and queens

But Andy will keep a rollin through the nights

He is the answer to the question “And why?”

    Hi Leila

Wow! You have a way with words! Always something humorous, profound, and a bit dangerous. A really nice flow that leads the mind without any sense of quitting. That’s what I call compelling!

“The sands of years will fill betwixt and between

And scrub away the legends of kings and queens” Double Wow!

    Hello!

First off I want to commend this wonderful picture of Andy, he is a beautiful fella and this pic does such a great job of communicating his selfhood (or projecting one of his personalities)!

I love his gray, fluffy fur with streaks of white. His big green eyes are beyond magnetic, they are mystical, and his pupils (large) seem to indicate he’s been consuming magic mushrooms. His white whiskers are wild, his terrific tail looks talented, and his posture indicates a great ability to leap into action – or sit in the Budda posture for hours on end, probably contemplating eternity with an empty mind.

What happened to his ears? Perhaps a little scarred up from a few drunken cat bar fights he got into that ended up a little too rough. But it does nothing to damage his handsomeness, if anything it increases it: scars are often beautiful.

A great photograph, I’m sure he loved it when ya showed it to him! Loved it and also didn’t care at the same time, again like the Buddha?

    • Hi Dale
Thank you and Andy thanks you as well. He is at least 8 years old, actually he must be a bit older because I have been feeding him at least that many years. Funny thing his ear–it got turned backwards a couple years ago and has not changed back. He is utterly feral and a good deal smarter than most people.
      Thanks again!

    PS

This poem does so many things at once, it’s amazing. Its simplicity = utterly complex.

And it does it all with such personality it’s heartening, and gives hope.

It has a kind of wisdom which matches that of The Preacher from the book of Ecclesiastes.

It is a song about one of God’s creatures, celebrating an underdog (even though he’s a cat) from whom humans can learn lessons.

    Thanks for this!

  4. I am reminded of a similar story about sheep. Jack and Sam rabbit decided to boff their way through a flock of does. They worked their way through the flock with polite “Wham bam, thank you ma’am” until the middle when it was “Wham, bam, excuse me Sam.”

Probably older than I am, and I am old.
