Ralph the Pheasant is not bright
Thus he is always ready to fight
He will befuddle a mud puddle
Or show his beak to another in a tail light
ii
Ralph the Pheasant is not a peasant
And on his turf a Queen would be pleasant
Yet he rushes around beaking
Foes and friends unhesitant
iii
O! Ralph the Pheasant, so proud and true
Take no shit even when the flinger is you!

Once Ralph gets a little smarter and can graduate to social media he’ll probably become famous overnight, as in a star on Twitter (not 2 b called x) and Ticktock (purposely misspelled) as well…
But then again, it is NOT social media itself which is 2 b blamed; it’s the way folks like Ralph are using it which is culpable…
Social media isn’t the culprit, in and of itself. It’s those who allow themselves to become Its Slaves who are the problem!
Beautiful feathers, Ralph!

Hi Dale
Ralph appreciates what you say about him (he’s a tad vain).
Absolutely true! It is never the system but the users who mess up great ideas. They do not see possibilities, they just sniff for scorn and hustle.
Thank you!
You’re up tomorrow!

It’s my belief that certain, small, and few scattered bands here and there are now responsible for showing THE REST OF THEM how some forms of social media really can be used for THE GOOD.
This kind of thing is way ahead of its time, so the rest of them may not catch up for a long while.
But the Readers and Writers of Saragun Springs (and Literally, and any other sites like these, if there are any) are the cutting-edge, humanistic model of the way the internet CAN BE USED for truly Artistic (in the best sense) purposes. And ART is the highest and deepest form of human communication; so that speaks for itself.
Thank you!

The pheasant strut could be a thing. I’ve prolly told the story of the pheasant and the coyote sometime. A little like Wiley and the Road Runner. I may have told the flattened road runner story.

Hi Doug
I don’t recall hearing it, but I think I know what happened.

We were in the Malheur (bad hour in bad French) observing a coyote stalking a pheasant. Coyote advace, pheasant flies fifty feet, and repeat. Made me think of a Coyote and RoadRunner cartoon.

Hi Doug
I do not know how Pheasants continue to thrive given their limited brain power. Maybe that’s the key!
